MB1 is led by founder and President Michael Barton, whose background includes the following key highlights:
- Over 20 years of real estate development management experience across Ontario and Canada;
- Registered Professional Planner in Ontario and full member of Canadian Institute of Planners;
- Experience in all land use planning and development matters for residential, commercial, mixed use, institutional and industrial projects;
- Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering;
- Significant experience with infill and intensification proposals within an existing urban setting. Many of these projects have included retrofitting and adaptive reuse of existing structures, including those with heritage attributes and designations and in communities focused on transit-oriented development initiatives;
- Presentation and Communication with Council and Committees;
- Coordination with all municipal departments, as well as external agencies such as the Niagara Escarpment Commission, Conservation Authorities, Ministry of Natural Resources and Ministry ofEnvironment and Climate Change;
- Public Engagement and Communication Process – Handling all coordination with members of the public on behalf of clients, including attending open houses, community meetings, mandatory public meetings, and other venues; and
- Development Financial Management and Analysis – Experience with, and full responsibility for preparation of financing budgets and pro formas to measure return on investment.
